1. How do I delete mail from the server after a POP3 download?
Most people after setting up their favorite mail client to download mail
via POP3, usually forget about deleting the mails they've downloaded from
the server itself. What then happens, is that their mailbox goes over
quota and they can't get mail anymore, then they complain to the sysadmin guy
about it. Sysadmin guys hate complaints of these sorts - trust me I know.
Log in to the POST1.COM webmailer and just follow these steps if you're configuring a POP3 client to download your mail from the server, so that your mailbox doesn't get cluttered up. 1) Click on 'Settings' at the top right corner 2) Click on the 'Forwarding and POP/IMAP' tab 3) Under 'POP Download:' select from the drop downbox "Delete POST1.COM Mail's copy" * 4) Click on 'Save Changes' at the bottom of the page * May say "Delete MBOX<X>.POST1.COM Mail's copy" depending on which MBOX you have been assigned to, where <X> is a number 1, 2, 3... eg: mbox1, mbox2, mbox3... ![]()
2. How do I set up forwarding to another email address?
POST1.COM was originally a forwarding account, ie. mail sent to
<username>@post1.com would be auto forwaded to another email account
of the user's choosing. This function can be replicated by setting up the
forwarding account appropriately once you log in the POST1.COM web mailer.
1) Click on 'Settings' at the top right corner 2) Click on the 'Forwarding and POP/IMAP' tab 3) Under 'Forwarding' select the radio button to "Forward a copy..." and fill in the address you want your POST1.COM mail forwarded to. 4) Select from the drop down box "delete POST1.COM Mail's copy" * 5) Click on 'Save Changes' at the bottom of the page * May say "Delete MBOX<X>.POST1.COM Mail's copy" depending on which MBOX you have been assigned to, where <X> is a number 1, 2, 3... eg: mbox1, mbox2, mbox3... ![]()
3. How do I configure my email client for POP3/IMAP?" * in it?
Downloading mails to your favourite client is all covered by GApps.
For POP3 users, refer to this link: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&ctx=mail&answer=12103 For IMAP users, refer to this link: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&ctx=mail&answer=75726 In all examples, when they mention your userid (username@your_domain.com) it means your FULL userid, including the domain, eg: username@post1.com, username@mbox1.post1.com, etc.
4. Why does my account have the "mbox<X>" * in it?
Users are assigned to different domains so as circumvent the 50 user limit
imposed on the GApps Standard Edition. This edition is free, so we won't
complain.
Users don't have to worry about the "mbox If you're using a mail client, set your "From:" and "Reply-To:" address to <username>@post1.com. We will route your mail to the correct mbox domain for you. * Where <X> is a number 1, 2, 3... eg: mbox1, mbox2, mbox3...

mind your mails being read by some third party who might use the
information they find against you or get you into trouble by using your
